Our philosophy

Life is vibrant and ever-changing. Brella’s goal is to provide children with the space and support to develop the foundational skills for life-long learning in a dynamic world. We do this by nurturing a child’s foundational traits, or “Three C’s”: confidence in themselves, compassion for others, and curiosity about the world around them.

Our curriculum

Our curriculum is designed by early childhood experts from Harvard and Stanford. Our play-based approach encourages children to explore concepts through intentionally designed, open-ended activities.

Our curriculum starts with a monthly theme. Each week, the classes explore an aspect of this theme through guided and open-ended activities across a variety of subject matters and experiences. These explorations incite curiosity and develop proficiencies in cognitive thinking, language development, social and emotional skills, practical life skills, and fine and gross motor skills.

April Curriculum: Savannah Exploration

SAVANNA+ILLUSTRATIONS-02.jpg

This month, we explore the savannah to learn about what it is like to live among the elephants and lions during dry and rainy seasons.

Each day the children will participate in art, music, STEM, pre-literacy, and movement activities inspired by the desert. These explorations are designed to peak a child’s curiosity and develop foundational cognitive, practical life, language, and social and emotional skills.

Activity Highlights

  • Safari: Children will make their own safari gear and go search for animals in our classrooms.

  • Farming: We’ll learn about what plants grow in the savannah and plant and tend to our own savannah gardens.

  • Wet and Dry Conditions: We’ll explore how periods of rain and periods of hot arid conditions can affect the plants and animals through a variety of STEM explorations.
